Aaaah!!!!!

-Aaaah!!!!!  I thought it was only since we were moving and didn't have Internet that I wasn't posting anything, but I see that I haven't posted since the end of March!
.
At our co-op for the end of the year we are putting together a newspaper with Creative Writing from the past year, poetry, class news, and a few other things in a typical newspaper.  I will publish my additions tomorrow.
.
I will write if not every day, or even every other day, to write not that we do have Internet, but at least not every other month .

Lent

Sometimes I have no idea what I should give up. But sometimes it isn't necessarily about giving up. Sometimes it is about giving without the up. Sometimes you have to do. And once you realize that it gets deeper. You start to realize that Lent is not some bothersome time when you have to restrain yourself from eating sweets and watching your favorite TV shows, but a time for development in your spiritual life. And yes, it is also the time to realize that you do sin, and that you do have fault, faults that you might try -and successfully- to hide from others, but can't hide form God. Faults that he sees in the most secret depths of your soul.
.
One aspect of Lent, especially during Holy Week, are all the church activities, i.e. Soup Suppers, Stations of the Cross. And when during Holy Week you attend Palm Sunday Mass, Holy Thursday Mass, Good Friday Service, and Easter Sunday Mass, do you ever feel tired with all of that going back and forth from home to Church? Since I have been serving, however, I have started to feel the importance of the Mass and its meaning more in full, something I had never realized before.
.
Lent is a time for me when I start to realize my faults, but more importantly, that in spite of those mistakes God will always loves me, to the extent of dying in the cross, for me, and for all of us.
.
- I actually typed this Tuesday but am not posting until today.
.
We are going to a wedding this weekend and I will have to make a newspaper article on the wedding. That will be hard for me because when I write fill it with adverbs, adjectives, and strong verbs. Writing plain hard facts will be a hard feat for me; I guess that makes it a better milestone on my part.
.
I will post soon and hope I will actually post every day instead of slacking, as I have been doing this past week.

My Wonderful Cat

My cat Sammie likes to play,
He also likes to hunt,
even though he'll sometimes hiss,
Us never will he shunt.
.
My cat Sammie likes to play,
He one time took my page,
He chased it, caught it, and tore it;
Never will he quickly age.
.
My cat Sammie likes to play,
Even when it's cold,
Even then he runs outside,
He's as good as gold.
.
My cat Sammie likes to play,
He also likes to hunt,
Even though he'll sometimes hiss,
Us he will never shunt.
.
- Our homework for both writing classes was to write a poem for tomorrow, the day when we merge into one class for 20 minutes to discuss and memorize poetry, or in this case, share our own poems. These two posts are Silly Sally's and mine for this week.
.
I had no idea what to write my poem on and my mom said to write about our cat and what he likes to do. I started with one poem, which I may post, and ended up with this one.
.
I changed from the original 'Sami' way of spelling the cat's name to the way it is now because I didn't know that was how we spelled it until I saked my mom :).
.
I may not post tomorrow because Thursdays are busy.

The Haunted Pearl

I was walking walking talking talking,
talking to my haunted friend,
When we turned a haunted bend,
on that bend there was a house,
all the years that I had lived,
I had thought it was a fib.
.
My haunted friend had said to me,
Come inside the ghosts are waiting all aglide.
I followed him in disbelief,
but then I turned and saw a leaf.
I grabbed a leaf and said to him,
you are not my biggest grim.
.
We entered in and saw a girl,
the haunted girl was holding the haunted pearl.
the haunted pearl you see,
was very very legendary
for the pearl had been one time,
the haunted object of a haunted unsolved crime.
.
- By Silly Sally written today. She enjoys that her poem is on this blog adn hopes you like the poem.

Lost on the Amazon

Meg, who was with child, stood on a small island in the middle of the Amazon River, wishing her shadow was hidden by the rocky crags of the Brazilian Highlands, away from the sun. It was a hot day and she was very uncomfortable, in two ways. The first was with the heat, but, more importantly because she was lost. You see - well, let's start from the beginning.
.
She was online looking for an exotic getaway to South America, preferably near the Amazon River, when she spotted a great deal. She could purchase a package from Coupon Mania for only $20!!! The package included a luxury plane ticket to the Amazon Airport, a 5-star luxury hotel room for a week with breakfast-in-bed, and a great tour ride. Wow, she thought. Those things in the package would surely cost hundreds each!!! How could she turn down such a perfect offer? A week later she was off. She spent a few wonderful days sightseeing. Today she had gone on her Amazon tour. They had stopped at a small island in the middle of the river, but when they took off again the driver of the boat had forgotten her.
.
So now she was trapped. And she felt her baby coming earlier than it was supposed to. Don't panic, she thought panickingly. She yelled out. No answer. After trying again, someone answered. Or rather, some thing. A dolphin came toward her. His clicking made her think he wanted her to climb onto his back. Finding no other choice, she held on and he sped off, taking her to shore. There she thanked the dolphin and saw the boat. She chided the driver for leaving her there on the island. Remembering what she had been feeling stranded on the island, she asked the captain to take her to the hospital. A litle baby girl was born, whom she named Delphis, Greek for dolphin, after the dolphin that saved them both.
.
- Silly Sally was telling our dad about how our homework assignments work and had him create 3 each of settings, characters, and conflicts. Then he picked one of each and I said that would be my seperate writing assignment for today.
.
Part of the fun in this is that I looked up where the Amazon is located, and it is near Uraguay, and the mouth is near the Brazilian Highlands. Also, I learned the Greek for 'dolphin'.
.
Tomorrow I will post my Wrting class homework for co-op.

An Octopus on Mt. Everest?

There is some thrilling news going around. Last night some young adventurous people claim to have seen an octopus, who says his name is Fitzgerald, on their climb up Mt. Everest. When the emergency department arrived on helicopters, there he was, relating his tales in ENGLISH. Here is the story, the way Fitzgerald told it.
.
Fitzgerald says -though it is highly doubtful, coming from an English speaking octopus- that he was in his bed of seaweed out in the ocean when it happened. He was sleeping, in his neighborhood when he closed his eyes, but when he opened them, he couldn't see anything. Where was he? In enemy territory? He was even afraid to move in case he was surrounded by jellyfish. After shakily greeting whoever might have been lurking about, he realized he was alone. After he was glad because it meant no enemies could possibly be there, he then realized it also meant no one else was there either. He felt waves crashing over him. That could only mean 2 things: either he was in a storm, or less likely, be near shore. Or maybe both. Whatever it was, it was bad. Then he blacked out.
.
When he came to he was cold. He couldn't see anything. Then he remembered that he was blind and couldn't see. However, he could still feel, and he felt uncomfortably cold, and in a strange way wet. He was on snowy Mt. Everest, though he didn't know what it was at the time, or even know he was there. And that was where our little hiking party found him.
.

Thank you for watching WSMA news.

Slight changes to original text and grammar in the typing process

Hi!!!

Hello, my name is Bookworm. I take a Creative Writing class and my mom wants me to be writing every day. So I will try either to post every day, or do 2 posts every couple of days or so. That's fine with me. I like to write. I like every part of it except for the part when you have to read your paper out loud to classmates. For some reason I can read other people's work out loud, but not my own.
So, anyway, now I will start a new post for my first paper on this new blog.
